SEO is all the work that gets your website to rank high in relevant searches on search engines such as Google. Technical SEO, content, local SEO and two examples from the field.
What does SEO mean?
SEO (search engine optimization) is all the work that gets your website to rank high in searches related to your business on search engines such as Google. Visitors who arrive without paid ads are called organic traffic. Done well, SEO builds a lasting customer channel that does not switch off when the ad budget runs out.
How do search engines work?
Google explores the web with bots (crawling), understands the pages it finds and adds them to its index (indexing), and when someone searches, ranks the most relevant and trustworthy results. To rank high, a page first has to be found, then understood, and finally give the best answer to the question being asked.
Technical SEO
Fast-loading, mobile-friendly pages with the right titles and descriptions, a sitemap and a clean URL structure are the foundation of technical SEO. Google’s Core Web Vitals (loading, interactivity and visual stability) are among the signals that affect ranking. Structured data (Schema.org) describes your business, products and services to search engines in a language machines understand.
Content and keywords
Which words do your customers search with? “paper cups” and “paper cup prices” are different intents. A separate page for each service and product that answers that search clearly, guides that answer common questions and a regularly updated blog show your expertise to both users and Google.
Local SEO
If you serve a specific area, local SEO brings the fastest return. Completing your Google Business Profile, keeping your business name, address and phone identical everywhere, collecting genuine customer reviews and creating content for each service area make you visible on the map and in “city + service” searches.
Two examples from the field
With the site and SEO work we built for Viracup, a paper cup manufacturer in Trabzon, the company reached the top of searches for “trabzon karton bardak”, and the extra visibility turned into orders. We took Bahar Halı Yıkama in Yomra to the top of regional searches with yomrahaliyikama.com. Both projects shared a fast, mobile-friendly site, locally focused content and a flow that turns visitors into quotes fast.
How long does SEO take?
Technical improvements usually start to show within a few weeks; lasting top positions for competitive searches come from a few months of consistent work. Be wary of anyone who guarantees a specific ranking; SEO is not a campaign but an investment that needs continuity. You can see how we work on our SEO & Local SEO service page.
