Privacy Policy
WaveTuner has no ads and no accounts, and it doesn’t track you across other apps or websites. Sound from the microphone and images from the camera are analyzed on your device and never leave it.

WaveTuner is a tuner and setup app for guitar, bass, ukulele and other instruments, built by WaveArc (Istanbul, Türkiye). WaveArc is the controller of the data described on this page. Contact: wavearc.si@gmail.com
What stays on your device
- Microphone: used only to detect the pitch of your instrument. Audio is analyzed in real time on your device and is never recorded, stored or sent.
- Camera: used only to measure neck relief and string height. Images are processed on your device and are never saved or sent.
- Your settings, custom tunings, setlists, setup log, string change dates and tuning history are stored only on your device and are deleted when you uninstall the app.
- We never collect your name, email address, phone number, contacts, photos or precise location, and you don’t need an account.

We don’t collect the advertising identifier (IDFA / Google Advertising ID), and advertising features in Firebase are turned off. Payment details never reach us: payments are handled by Apple or Google.
Legal basis
We process purchase data to provide what you bought (performance of a contract), and usage statistics and crash reports on the basis of our legitimate interest in keeping WaveTuner reliable and improving it. We don’t use your data for advertising, and we never sell or rent it.
Service providers
These companies process data on our behalf under their own privacy policies:
- Google Firebase (Analytics, Crashlytics): firebase.google.com/support/privacy
- RevenueCat (subscriptions): revenuecat.com/privacy
- Apple App Store: apple.com/legal/privacy
- Google Play: policies.google.com/privacy
They may process data in the United States and other countries, with safeguards such as standard contractual clauses.
Permissions
- Microphone: tuning, analyzed on your device.
- Camera: optional neck relief and string height measurement, processed on your device.
- Notifications: optional practice and string change reminders, seasonal setup checks, weekly summaries and tips. They are scheduled on your device, and you can turn them off at any time.
- Bluetooth (Android 11 and earlier): audio through Bluetooth headsets.
How long we keep it
Usage statistics are kept for up to 14 months and crash reports for up to 90 days, then deleted automatically. Purchase records are kept by RevenueCat, Apple and Google for as long as needed to provide your purchases and meet legal obligations. Data on your device stays there until you delete the app.
Your rights
Depending on where you live (for example under the GDPR, the UK GDPR, Türkiye’s KVKK or the CCPA), you can ask to access, correct or delete your data, object to its processing, or complain to your data protection authority. Write to wavearc.si@gmail.com and we will reply within 30 days.
Analytics data isn’t linked to your name, so the simplest way to start fresh is to delete the app: everything stored on your device is removed and the analytics identifier is reset. You can manage or cancel subscriptions in your App Store or Google Play account settings.
Security
All network traffic uses encrypted HTTPS connections. WaveTuner has no servers of its own, and data on your device is kept in the app’s private storage, protected by the operating system.
Children
WaveTuner is a general-audience app and is not directed at children under 13. We don’t knowingly collect personal information from children.
Changes
If this policy changes, we will update this page and the date above. Significant changes will also be mentioned in the app’s release notes.
